Hi!

Great location for a short visit... You can go there by bus (cheapest way) or arrange a car transfer... albaniantrip.com can arrange that for you... have a lot of fun there...

Hey there, you could stay in Mangalemi Hotel, it is interesting hotel in the middle of the town. Nice food also.Berat is one of the nicest towns in Albania and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Best,

I mentioned this in the Tirana Forum, but this also applies to your questions about Berat: Check out the new Thomas Cook Cityspots guidebook to Tirana. It also includes information about Berat. It was written by a veteran travel writer and explorer, Tim Clancy, who is based in Sarajevo. Tim knows his stuff when it comes to travel.

You can find the book via most online booksellers. I found it via a travel blog about travel in the Balkans:

For Berat, be sure to visit the Cobo Winery -- a great %26quot;wine tourism%26quot; destination: www.cobowinery.com For a place to stay, the Mangalemi is fine, also the Castle Park across the river. They organize rafting trips also.

My recommendation is Tomi restaurant/bar/hotel at the beginning of the climb to the castle. Rooms at 30EUR and clean, food excellent, people nice. Their tel.: +355 (0)32 32 093
