Durres

Hello

We are a family of four people from Denmark (two children on 6,8).

We would like to stay 7 days in Durres Albania this summer, and have a few questions.

Is the beach so great that we dont have to rent a room where there is a pool?

If we rent a private apartment is it so safe to leave the car on the street?

We have been looking at the internet for the private apartments but can not find som much... can anybody help us whit that?

All help about a place to stay and other information is welcome.

Thank you

And i can help you to find accomodation in Durres as well . Right on the beach. In nice appartments in flats or villas. The beach is big enough, you don%26#39;t have to care about that.

You can leave your car on the street but just to be 100% sure don%26#39;t forget your wallet at the window (your car is anyway 95% sure in Albania - as everywhere else in the world sh.. can hit the fan here as well) My car window got broken in Geneva - Switzerland once(Beach of the United Nations), by some people that stole a camera and the equivalent of 35 euros in Albanian money. I would rather reccomand you not to stay in Durres all the time but to try to see some more from other interesting town like Tirana or settle on the beach in Vlora for half of the time. If you rent a car or a taxi (in 7 days) you can organise yourself to pay some very interesting visits and to relax as well. If interested contact me and i can help organise everything...

Have a great holiday in Albania anyway!

Hey Viborg,

I would recomend you do stay somewhere where is a pool. The beach is nice but sometimes dirty, depending where you stay. There is a nice resort called Mak Albania so you can stay there and you also could find it on web site about the prices and the rest.

I think it is a good idea maybe to have a rent a car so you can move. The sea side from Vlora to Saranda is very beautiful. I went with my friends in August two years ago without bookings and we did not have a problem.

I wish you had a great time here, this is very beautiful country.

Best,
