We will be traveling shortly to Albania and Montenegro from for just slightly over a week (about 8-9 days), and would like most probably cover the usual, i.e. Tirana, Durres, Shkodra, Budva, Kotor, and Podgorica. We expect that the travelling will be done by bus/furgon or train, since we do not intend to drive. We would appreciate any suggestions on how long we should spend at these various destinations, and how long we can expect the travelling times to be between towns. Any other cities to visit would also be great. Thanks in advance.

Hey there, I would suggest that you stay one or two days in Tirana, if you stay two on the way to Shkoder visit Kruja it is worth it, one day in Durres and one day in Shkodra, visit Rosafa Castle. From Shkodra to Ulqinj, Montenegro is one hour approximetly and this is nice coastal city. From Ulqinj you could go to Budva, one hour and half or two the most, and to Kotor other one hour. If I were you I would avoid Podgorica, it is extremly hot and nothing to see. From Tirana to Durres is 40 min and from Tirana to Durres is around two hours. I hope I was helpful. Montenegrin towns mentioned here are coastal towns so you can stay there and swim.
Have a great time,
