Tirana - Kotor

And another question..........

We need to get from Tirana to Kotor in Montenegro. I know we can do this by furgons/taxis etc but are there any scheduled buses or minivans making the journey or are there any travel agencies in Tirana or en-route to the border who offer transport right the way through to Kotor? We want to leave Tirana in the morning, we don%26#39;t mind how early.

We%26#39;re also planning this route, but again the reverse. We are planning to go from Kotor to Ulcinj, bus to Skhodra, then mini bus to Tirana. Seems very doable from what I%26#39;ve seen on these boards and also from what I found on inyourpocket.com Shkodra.

If there are more %26quot;direct%26quot; transports that would be terrific.

Not sure about travel agencies but it is easy to do in one day with the furgon, minibus and bus combo. Though it will definitely take a day of travel.

We took an early morning furgon (which leave all the time to Shkodra) and was incredibly quick. If you leave Tirana at about 6.30 am or 7am you will easily be up at Shkodra in time for the 9am minibus which leaves from the travel agent near the Hotel Rozafa. this is where the furgon seems to terminate anyway, but just check with the driver.

If you ask the driver (Mr Mahendra?) when booking your ticket, you should be able to get dropped off at the main bus staiton in Ulcinj by 11 am. From there you can get almost hourly buses down the coast in peak season (though not all go through to Kotor). There would be at least half a dozen a day that do. You should be in Kotor by about 4pm.

If you don%26#39;t make the 9am minibus, there is an afternoon minibus from Shkodra at 3pm.

Because of the border crossing and the poor roads, the minibus between Shkodra to Ulcinj can take some time - though in our case we had to stop to get the tyre changed as well and then drive back to get someone%26#39;s passport that we had left behind!!! So, the journey took about two hours instead of 1.
