is it safe to travel in albania now?

i am planning to travel with 3 male friends to montenegro and dubrovnik in july and then try to get to mykonos. only have about a week to travel. one way i found is to fly trom tirana with aegean airlines 116 euros. this seems to be one of the quickest ways. is there other options to do it in 1 day? and is it safe to go to tirana by bus or train? we dont plan to stay overnight.

Not sure..fly from Tirana to Mykonos? Or to Athens and from there to Mykonos. I think Tirana is lovely and safe...and by bus to Athens takes 16 HRS.

It is safe to travel in Albania. I was there in March with my wife and three kids (we are from Chicago). The only option to travel from Tirana to Athens and then to Pireaues is by bus. That would take a good 16 or 17 hours.

If you need to go through the Tirana Airport (which is now greatly improved) take another flight to Athens and a flight directly to Mykonos.

Albania is very safe. and while you are in the region you should stay few days in Albania and visit beaches in the south of the country, you will not be disappointed. Check this:

Albania is quite safe. I%26#39;d save the airfare and take a bus/minius down to Dhermi, or Qeparo, or Borshi. Less developed that Mykonos and much less expensive.
