Hi,
My team (Sligo Rovers) have been drawn against KS Vllaznia Shkodër in the Europa League. They play in Shkodër and the cheapest way to Albania seems to be by flying to Dubrovnik and working your way down. Does anyone know how much a bus(if there is one) would cost from Dubrovnik to Shkodër? How long would it take? Is it a regular service?
Is a bus the best option or is there a train? How much would a taxi cost?
Lots of questions I know, answer what you can. Thanks!

Sligoman,
Another Rovers nut of 30 years here and I can tell you we are looking at flying to italy and getting ferry from bari to durres. The flights arent too bad, work out around €200 return then the boat is another 140 give or take and get a train or minivan to Shkódér or whatever the daft name is. 12 of us going and cant wait for it. Seems like a long long time ago we went to Kaunus swearing we%26#39;de never come back to this side of the world. Cant wait

Well shedred,
We%26#39;ve all our stuff booked now, we looked into the ferry alright and it worked out cheaper but we just ended up booking with Aer Lingus Dublin to Dubrovnik as it%26#39;s a lot handier time wise. There%26#39;s 10 of us there from the Monday to the Friday. We%26#39;re going hiring a mini bus from there and heading down to Shkoder on the Thursday morning and back to Dubrovnik straight after the game.
By the way if you know anyone else flying to Dubrovnik and needs a bus down to Shkoder let me know, the more the merrier!

Hi
There is no train that runs along the coast that way. You can take a bus from Durbrovnik to Ulcinj which is near the border of Montenegro and Albania.
In theory there is a 10.30 am bus that departs Dubrovnik each day and goes all the way to Ulcinj (taking about 5 1/2 hrs). However, this often stops half way if there isn%26#39;t enough passengers and you have to change buses. There are regular other bus servics that leave Dubrovnik for the major towns on the Montenegro Coast where you can easily pick up another bus for Ulcinj. The best towns to change would be Herig Novi (on the Croatia/Montenegro border), Budva or Bar. The Dubrovnik departure timetable is http://www.libertasdubrovnik.hr/voznired.swf
Once you%26#39;ve got to Ulcinj, there is two mini-buses per day that will take you over the border to Shkoder (taking about 40 mins) and costing about 10E. You could call the company that runs the mini-bus in Shkoder to find out about this connection: 02247157. Perhaps they would also be able to let you know whether it is possible to take a mini van all the way and the approximate cost of hiring one for your team.
