Hi everybody!
we are going to travel to Albania during the summer by plane. My difficult question is that how we can travel from one town to another one? I have heard that the timetables of buses are rapsodic and when you travel in the morning you can spend just 2-3 hours at the destination because the bus returns. What about taxis? We are 4. Can we hire a taxi for a day? Like in Aqaba (Jordan)?
Thanks for the answer

Yes, you can hire a taxi or a van (easier and cheaper) for one day, including the driver. Just make sure to negotiate the price beforehand.

There is no problem traveling in the morning. Just ask around for autobus or furgon in the direction you want to go. People are kind and always want to help.
Taxis is no problem and useful for destinations where public transport doesn%26#39;t go. But first try bus of furgon.\
Greetings,
Giovanni

Hiring a taxi for a day isn%26#39;t that difficult, just negotiate a price beforehand and include waiting time for the cabbie.
Catching a furgon in Tirana can be hard because furgon %26quot;stops%26quot; move around frequently due to roadwork and construction, ex. one %26quot;stop%26quot; was a mud patch next to a dilapidated concrete building.
Cab drivers are up to date about the latest furgon departure points -- some of the ones mapped out in the latest Lonely Planet book are outdated by now; for instance, south-bound furgons now leave from a parking lot in the outskirts of town -- so I hopped in a cab and asked for the furgon to my destination. Cab fares within Tirana are only 500 lek, so it%26#39;s not much and it saves you the hassle of trying to figure out stops on your own.
