Hello,
If you travel from Skopje to Tirana (http://www.sas.com.mk/en/), you will arrive at 04:30u in Tirana. This is not the way I prefer things for us both but what can you do.
Is it safe to arrive in Tirana at this time ? Are there any places you can go to to kill the time till the morning (in Skopje there is a 24/7 casino at the bus station) ?
Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.

It%26#39;s safe. I%26#39;m not sure exactly where you will be let off the bus because there is no central bus station. Head for the center of town (Skanderbeg Square) and you can wander around and enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the mountains. Some people may be up on their way to work but it should be pretty quiet then. You may get lucky and find a bakery open or maybe even a coffe shop. The bigger hotels (Sheraton and Rogner) have lobbies with bars that may be open then too.
If you have specific questions, e-mail me at sksintirana@hotmail.com.

I think that it is perfectly safe, but you will be very tired. I would suggest that you book a hotel, many won%26#39;t charge for that time of the day. And yes, some 500 m. from the bus stop (at the center of the city in Scanderbeg square) there is a big park with a casino in it.
Enjoy!

Hello,
I ask for the fares Skopje-Tirana and Tirana-Skopje,
does anyone know how much they are ? Do the buses travel daily ?
Special question for travelling Macedonia-Albania v.v.: Does anyone know the fares and schedules for Ohrid ?
If there is a daily direct bus from Ohrid to Tirana v.v. too, it is possible to mix two different routes.
Looking fwd to positive replies,

Hi!
Departures twice a day from Tirana to Skopje or Tetovo. One at 9am (15 euros) and another at 6pm (20 euros). The evening bus departures every 1st, 3rd and 5th day of the week. Sorry about Ohrid i do not know the exact rate but i suppose should be about 4-5 euros less than the above mentioned.
Have fun!

Good evening,
thank you for your reply. So there is at least a daily bus from Tirana to Skopje at 9am in the morning - where does it depart from and how long needs it to travel to Skopje ?
The 15 Euros fare are OK so far - to be paid to the driver or the steward on this bus or at the ticket office at the bus station in Tirana ? Do they accept Euros or Lek only ?
But when does daily the bus from Skopje depart to Tirana ? To be paid in Euros or Macedonian Dinars ?It will be perfect to know this too.
I plan to travel at least Tirana-Skopje or v.v. nonstop, and the second route Tirana-Ohrid or v.v. because I want to spend so 2 days in Ohrid.
Thanks for further replies.

Check the In Your Pocket - Tirana webpage. They have the bus schedules for Skopje as well.
It is absolutely safe to arrive in Tirana at that time. There are caffes which are opened at that time in the city center. Just check closed to the arrival station.

Do you know how long it is from tirana to skopje by bus?
|||
It takes about 6 hours, depending on how frequently the driver stops and how busy the border post is at Qafe Thane.
