Trains between Tirana and Skopje

I need to travel between Tirana and Skopje, probably on the 1st or 2nd of July 2009.

I would prefer to travel by train, but I am not having any luck searching for these options on the internet. If there are no direct trains, a train with a connection would be OK, but I need to find a link with times etc. Has anyone seen this information?

There is no forum on this site for Macedonia, so I have to make all my enquiries through the Albania/Tirana forum.

The bus station in Skopje has a website,l but I can%26#39;t see information for travel between Skopje/Tirana. I see another poster has asked a similar question but the answers don%26#39;t seem very solid. Can anyone help with this.

No trains between Tirana and Skopje. Take a train to Pogradec from Tirana and then find a link from a Macedonian town to Skopje. Just know that between Tirana and Pogradec it takes 8 hours by train and three hours by minibus (even 2h30)

You really have to like trains to want to do that.

So it seems bus travel is on the cards.

I had a look at the skopje bus station website, but its not very informative regarding travel from Tirana.

I wonder if anyone has up to date information regarding busses to skopje - times, fares and pick-up points - I understand there%26#39;s no bus station in Tirana.

Hi, or look for Travel Agents, where are so many in the center of Tirana. They will give you plenty of information and solutions.
