Teaching English

I was considering teaching English in Albania and was wondering how difficult this would be for a UK citizen. Any advice on any aspect of teaching English in Albania would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Should not be difficult, as long as you have the appropriate credentials to get a job with the private universities in Tirana. You might want to check with your embassy in Tirana about your work permit.

Legally, you would need to get a %26quot;leje qendrimi%26quot; or stay permit that would allow you to work. This is done through the state police.

Practically, if you can find a school that wants to hire you, you%26#39;re in. The biggest obstacle is the pay scale. There is no shortage of English-speaking Albanians who would be willing to work for much less than most ex-pats.
