There are flights on gorillaair.com but the rates for next year (June) start at $455 US dollars- far more than I can afford. Aren%26#39;t there maxi-taxis or busses? When I was there this summer- my impression was that busses went all over Eastern Europe. Please let me know if you find an answer. I will post a similar request on other forums as I plan to return next summer and would also like to visit Albania (cheaply).

I have in mind a budget of 100 - 150 euros by bus. Tirana is not so far from Bucharest. To pay 400 - 500 USD (euro) for a flight is too much. Anyway i`ll start to find out if there are any buses to Titana.

I know there are buses to Salonic - Greece. MAybe from there i can find a conection to Tirana.

I have heard that you can take a train to Sofia, then take a bus to Skopje, Macedonia. From there you can take a mini-bus to Tirana, Albania. Now I just need details (ie which bus, cost, all the important details)http://www.tripadvisor.com/GoListDetail-i15556-Future_travel_plans_for_2008.html

I found some answers on another forum so I%26#39;ll post the link here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ ShowTopic-g295110-i8579-k1948918-l12087422- Bus_travel_Skopje_to_Tirana-Skopje.html#. Re: Travelling from Bucharest to Tirana, I did it once, and it was very tiresome, but doable. From Skopie there are daily busses to Tirana or Durres during the high season, and the price is appx. 40 eur round trip. The busses leave from the main bus stop in Skopie, and arrive in the main square in Tirana.

As for using your own car, there are no problems whatsoever. Plus the police is very cautious in not attacking foreigner licence plates (country policy to attract tourists).
