visiting Sarande

My wife and I will be making a day visit to Sarande as part of a cruise in early September. I%26#39;m not familiar w/Albania and am having trouble getting info on Sarande. Is it an easy walk from where cruise ships dock to the old city and the important sites or should we plan to arrange a taxi or tour to get to see the important things? From the little I have learned Sarande is quite remarkable so we are eager to make the most of our one day visit.

just been in albania for the last 8 days and spent 4 days in sarande, the beaches are lovely, but be warned as sewage flows into some of them so examine before entring the water.

Not sure how far the ship dock is from important sites but a taxi will cost about 200 albania lek but they refer to this as 2000 albania lek so dont be fooled into handing over to much money, they add an extra zero on the price.

Taxis are easy to find but you may find it hard to communicate as not many speak english a map or something to show them where you want to go makes life easier.

Currently staying in Sarande. Its well worth the visit. Lots of nice things to do. Not sure where you are coming from before Sarande so you maybe able to get some help before you arrive once on your travels.

Buses run regularly, taxis are all over the port, check price before getting in, as lots of competition for your business. The old town is an easy walk from the port.

As Rescue Team pointed out earlier, Tripexpertusa09 replied to a great many old old posts and thereby %26#39;bumped%26#39; them up. So they now appear current on this forum. As Rescue Team said, there is not really any point replying to the posts as they have lain dormant for years. Why not post a new and current topic, that would be a welcome way of bringing this Albania forum up to present day!

Did you find/ discover any nice restaurants or bars in Sarande or neighbouring towns/ cities?

How about: must do%26#39;s/ see%26#39;s, watersports?, Boat Hire, scuba diving, beaches etc...

Apppreciate any insights no matter how small.
