Saranda

We left the Island of Corfu in Greece by sea.

Our boat left Korfu at 9:45am arriving in Saranda at 11:15 am. We did pay for the ticket 17,5€ per person, one way.

At the arrival we went through customns and pay 1€ per person to enter Albania.Then we walked from the port to the city center,about 15 minutes walking,and found there many hotel options,we choosed the Hotel PALMA E ARTE. The hotel had air conditon,terrase with a view to the sea,no breakfast (but you get it in the restaurant/cafe infornt of the hotel). The expenses for each night at the hotel were 15€ per person.The hotel was a very good option,clean, service minded staff and central.There are many an good restaurants in the city as well as some caffe bars too.Albanians do not have the same concept of our western breakfast.

The people are just amazing, helpful and honest, but be aware of the taxi drivers,before you get into a taxi YOU MUST agre on the price before.

There are ATMs/bankomatics,almost everywere in Albania.

We go to Saranda every year and stay for one month! We love it there. The people could not be any friendlier. We usually fly to Tirana and drive down. But this year we will fly to Greece and take a boat to Igoumenitsa and then drive across the border. Looking forward to May!

1) Restaurants in Saranda %26amp; neighbouring towns.

2) Bars/ nightlife in Saranda.

3) Car Rental (from Tirana)

4) Pursuits: Water Sports, Diving %26amp; Snorkeling, Boat Rental, scooter hire etc...

5) South Albania: Ksamil, Bay of Kakome, Castle of Lëkursit, The Blue Eye, The Butrint National Park, Gjirokastra - town and castle, Himara...

6) Beaches

Saranda is getting there-more and more tourists are coming there every year. It really is as is written-THE LAST SECRET! We love it there=go every summer there. We can spend one month there for the same price as one week in Myrtle Beach SC. People are wonderful. I feel very very safe there as well.
